Following China's rapid, economic development, Chinese consumers are paying ever more attention to the quality of fruits and now often lean towards purchasing imported fruit. Recently, the first batch of Lapin cherries from Tasmania was successfully imported to Guangzhou and Shenzhen by Shenzhen Kingship. "We have been a long established player in the feed additive sector. In the last 20 years of running this business, we have established good working relations with every big international company. We are well positioned to join the fresh produce industry," says Mr. Li Hanqing, the company's chairman.

"There are three main reasons why we have our sights on import-export markets: the first being that, although we only entered the market in June of 2016, we have already managed to move up 800 containers in a market of over 11 thousand companies. So, in order to increase turnover even more while maintaining sustainable development, we decided to expand our role in fruit imports. The second reason is, the turnover period of companies that deal with food additives lasts for somewhere between 120 and 150 days, but the turnover period of companies that deal with fruit is much shorter. Finally, this company is in close proximity to Hong Kong. The Shenzhen Wenjin port is one of the largest import ports of fruit around the world. This geographical position gives us an exceptional advantage when it comes to the logistics of importing fruit.

"Data indicate that in recent years, even though the development of China's fruit import-export market was rapid, information concerning manufacturers were not always clear. The problems that this market faces, such as cold storage in the process of transporting fruit, require regulation coming from the leading company in the business, which would lay the foundations for the developement of a positive feedback loop. That should be the objective of our industry at this moment. To make this happen, we are actively looking for a company that would be up to taking the lead in this effort, while our company takes an active part in investment, logistics, handling customs duties and other aspects. We hope to make progress with our partner hand in hand."
